Internationally well-known and respected, Pino Carbone is a coach and therapist for many celebrated dancers including Roberto Bolle, Bridgit Brainer, Alessio Carbone, Luca Sbrizzi, Beatrice Carbone and many others. Pino Carbone is often a guest at prestigious personal care centers, academies and dance schools, such as the Boston Ballet School, the Chinese National Ballet School, English National Ballet School, TANZ Akademie Zurich and others, where he holds internships and workshops on the BodyCode System.

Experience

Maestro Carbone is particularly known for his many years of experience in the world of dance.

First as a professional dancer and later as a dance teacher, therapist and creator of a complementary training method and dance support, as well as one of the first Certified Gyrotonic Master Teachers in the world and a pioneer who introduced it to Europe in the 1980s.

Since 2016, Pino Carbone has been a Lecturer in the Faculty of Motor Sciences at the University of Rome Foro Italico, holding postural and motor re-education courses according to the Bodycode System method.

As former professional dancer, Carbone worked with various companies including:

Dancing the classical, contemporary and modern repertoire. During his artistic career he also ventured as a choreographer, creating popular choreographies such as “Spoiled circle”, presented at the Riverside Dance Festival in NY City and positively reviewed by the New York Times in the 1980s.

The BodyCode System® method

Over thirty years of activity, study and research, Pino Carbone has synthesized his knowledge in the Bodycode System method, designing and patenting numerous equipment for motor action.

During its activity there have been countless people around the world who have benefited from its methodology and its unique equipment.

Furthermore, the validity of its principles has been recognized by internationally renowned doctors and specialists such as Dr. Jurgen Toft, with whom he has collaborated for many years. This methodology was also particularly effective in cases of post-operative or traumatic functional recovery, as well as in paraplegic, spastic, neurolese and major depressed subjects.

History

  • 1988

    He founded the now famous Studio Il Vortice in Florence (www.studioilvortice.com), currently the world's longest-established Gyrotonic centre and headquarters of the BodyCode System.

  • 1996

    He founded the BodyCode System Professional Training School in Florence, with the aim of teaching the correct use of the equipment he had invented and his exercise philosophy, establishing a new generation of therapists and trainers.

  • 2004

    He won the International Invention Award at the International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva.

  • 2016

    He was awarded the International Dance Prize "Willy Dal Canto" by the President of the Commission of Culture for the City of Florence at the Teatro Verdi in Florence.

  • 2016

    He has also been a Professor at the Faculty of Motor Sciences of the University of Rome "Foro Italico".
